Cluster is an immersive audiovisual installation that explores the relationships between space, time and perception. Light instruments are used to reinterpret the architecture of Nave Una and transform it into an abstract visual and sonic language that takes visitors on a sensory journey. Based on synchronised oscillator systems, the installation generates patterns from the behaviour of waves in space and time, creating a synaesthetic experience in which each light source has its own corresponding acoustic sound.
Playmodes is a Barcelona-based audiovisual research studio that develops projects using its own technologies. It combines software, hardware and creativity to create immersive installations and video mapping projects, and for digital set design and sound design. Its projects are inspired by natural phenomena, abstract art and contemporary culture, and they play around with the perception of architecture, light, sound and time. They have been shown in cities around the world and at internationally renowned cultural events and venues.

Location
Nave Una at Matadero Madrid is part of the city’s former municipal slaughterhouse, designed in the early 20th century by Luis Bellido. Like the entire complex, it has an industrial Neo-Mudéjar style distinguished by the use of exposed brick and clear lines. Today, the building retains its original industrial style and functions as a space dedicated to contemporary creation, hosting artistic, exhibition and cultural experimentation projects.
