Sustainability Strategy
The Sustainability Strategy and Policy of Luz Madrid 2023 is governed by a series of specific commitments designed on the one hand, to prevent, mitigate and compensate for any negative impact on the natural and social environment that it may generate and, on the other, to try to ensure a positive legacy for the city of Madrid.
These commitments are set out below:
Commitment 1: Promote responsible and sustainable consumption.
Commitment 2: Ensure the sustainability of the supply chain.
Commitment 3: Prevent the generation of waste, and to promote the reuse and selective management of any waste that may be generated.
Commitment 4: Promote collective and/or sustainable mobility.
Commitment 5: Promote responsible and sustainable energy consumption.
Commitment 6: Promote responsible practices in the use and consumption of water, and to ensure the efficient treatment of waste water.
Commitment 7: Prevent pollution caused by noise and vibration.
Commitment 8: Avoid soil contamination.
Commitment 9: Respect the tree population and green areas, as well as fountains, ponds and other urban furniture.
Commitment 10: Implement universal accessibility measures.
Commitment 11: Assess and offset the carbon footprint of the activities.
Commitment 12: Provide information and raise awareness in order to encourage everyone involved in the Festival to share responsibility.
Commitment 13: Promote responsible practices and attitudes during the Festival.
Commitment 14: Monitor and evaluate the Sustainability Action Plan to ensure the best possible results and to enable the compilation of a Sustainability Report.
Commitment 15: Renew the external recognition and certification granted by A Greener Future to the first edition of Luz Madrid in 2021.
