Flux is a kinetic light sculpture controlled in real time by motorised movements. Rotating propellers create dynamic lines of light that expand at varying speeds and ranges, resulting in a constantly transforming organic-looking form. The work shifts between states of calm and others that are almost frenetic, in an exchange with Grégory Sémah’s original sound composition. It’s a visual and acoustic experience that sets light in motion and transforms rhythm into space.

Collectif Scale is a French collective made up of creators with diverse artistic and technological backgrounds. Their multimedia installations combine light, sound, movement and robotics, drawing inspiration from both natural phenomena and contemporary culture. Their work explores the relationships between music, images, architecture and light, giving rise to sensory, playful, innovative installations. They have presented their projects at international festivals and venues in Europe, Asia and the United States.

Location

Plaza de la Villa is one of Madrid’s oldest and best-preserved urban complexes. The square has medieval origins and is home to three of the most important buildings in Madrid’s civil architecture: Torre de los Lujanes, Casa de Cisneros and Casa de la Villa. Its domestic scale, the predominant use of stone and its irregular layout create a very coherent urban landscape whose constructions reveal the city’s history.
